YFCC Attends 2025 National Reconciliation Week Event: Bridging Now to Next

National Reconciliation Week, held from 27 May to 3 June, is a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history, acknowledge truth, and commit to a more unified and respectful future. This year’s theme, “Bridging Now to Next,” invited communities to consider how we can collectively move forward—by learning from the past and taking meaningful action today.

YFCC was proud to be represented at a local Reconciliation event hosted by No.34 Aboriginal Health Service on Thursday, 29 May at the Gnomon Pavilion, Ulverstone Wharf. Jacqui from our Helping Young Families program, alongside Evie and Leanne from Employment Services, attended the event, joining more than 150 community members and around 30 service providers.

The event was a vibrant and welcoming space that encouraged reflection, learning, and connection. Service providers shared information and support, while attendees participated in engaging activities. Highlights included community conversations, cultural sharing, and some very lucky raffle winners!

Participating in events like these is part of YFCC’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation. We acknowledge the strength, history, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and are proud to stand alongside them as we continue to build respectful relationships, grounded in truth and understanding.
