Helping Young Families (HYF) is one of the services offered by YFCC’s Family Support Team. HYF is a voluntary service that offers assistance to families through parenting support, community connections, social participation, advocacy, and referral to other service providers. HYF is funded by Catholic Care through the Communities for Children program, an initiative of the Department of Social Services. It provides support to families with children aged between 0 and 12 years who reside in the Burnie Municipality. The focus of HYF is to enhance parents’ confidence and skill sets, with the safety of children being at the forefront of the support provided. HYF also provide opportunities to parents within the Burnie area to participate in building their knowledge and skill base through evidence-based parenting programs such as Abecedarian Approach Australia (adapted), Seasons for Growth, and 1-2-3 Magic and Emotion Coaching.

YFCC’s services provide outreach, including meeting with people in their homes or at public places such as cafes, libraries, or parks. If you or someone you know may benefit from our service, please call the office on (03) 6423 6635.
