Youth Development Coach

About the Role

As a Youth Development Coach, you will mentor and support young people, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. Your role will include:
Coaching and facilitating programs
Strengthening family connections where possible
Supporting transitions to stable living arrangements

These positions are based at Malana – Youth at Risk Centre in Launceston, a 24/7 temporary accommodation and support service for unaccompanied children and young people aged 12-15. Working collaboratively with community partners, we aim to improve youth wellbeing and provide tailored support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments
  • Provide brief interventions, education, and information
  • Offer supported referrals and outreach services
  • Undertake case management
  • Promote independent and healthy living skills

What You’ll Need

  • Diploma in Community Services or an equivalent qualification
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Check & Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • Availability for overnight and weekend shifts
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
