An important part of the work YFCC’s drug and alcohol team undertake is Health Promotion, including a focus on prevention and education around drug and alcohol misuse. The Health Promotion team is responsible for delivering a range of workshops and programs to young people right across North West Tasmania. The workshops focus on harm minimisation and informed choice to help young people understand the potential impacts of different substances and the risks associated with them. The workshops focus on a range of substances including energy drinks, nicotine and illegal drugs and are tailored to different age groups from Grades 7 – 12. Workshops also cover a range of subjects that can act as pre-cursors to problematic substance use including mental health and respectful relationships. Our workshops are delivered in a fun and engaging way that invites young people to participate, ask questions and challenge assumptions.
If you have a group of young people (12 – 24yrs) who you think may benefit from one of our workshops, please get in contact on 6423 6635 or via firstname.lastname@example.org
