YFCC welcomes three new Board members

Youth, Family and Community Connections has welcomed three new members to its Board, bringing extensive experience across education, governance, law, media and community leadership. 

Sheree Vertigan AM joins the Board with a long career in education, strategic leadership and regional development.  

A former school principal and national education leader, Sheree has also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Cradle Coast Authority and holds senior governance roles with the University of Tasmania.  

Her experience includes public policy, advocacy, community engagement and organisational leadership. 

Mat Grining brings more than two decades of experience in education, including 14 years in senior leadership roles.  

He is currently President of the Tasmanian Principals Association and has served as a principal in schools across North West Tasmania.  

Mat also holds a number of board and community leadership roles and brings expertise in governance, finance, policy development and systems design. 

Margot Ellis brings a background spanning journalism, law, communication and governance.  

A former ABC journalist with a decade of media experience, Margot is completing a Juris Doctor through the Australian National University and has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Crime Stoppers Tasmania.  

She also brings experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic communication, marketing and volunteering. 

Together, Sheree, Mat and Margot bring a diverse mix of skills and perspectives to the YFCC Board, along with strong connections to the communities YFCC serves. 

We look forward to drawing on their experience as the organisation continues working to support young people, families and communities across Tasmania.
