YFCC is proud to share that during 2024 we have amalgamated several internal committees to form the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group. The Diversity and Inclusion Working Group aims to ensure YFCC becomes the most equitable organisation it can be and is accountable and transparent in all aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion. The working group is responsible for the development and oversight of the diversity and inclusion agenda encompassing the following:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group
- Disability inclusion
- People of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities – LGBTIQA+ Community
- Generational diversity
- People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
The group will function to:
- Encourage others – champion and role model inclusive behaviour and language, and to influence improvements in equality across the organisation and within community.
- Raise awareness – both internally and externally, raise awareness of significant days/events through education and information sharing across teams/services and through social media campaigns.
- Accessible services – to ensure our services and information are accessible for all in the community.
- Inclusive spaces – create inviting, inclusive and supportive environments for all people to feel comfortable and safe.
We look forward to providing an update on the improvements in our inclusivity practices we are currently implementing across our organisation. Stay tuned for more to come from this space.
