Due to the ongoing success and popularity of our regular school holiday programs, this January we decided to set a “3-activity maximum” per attendee in order to give new people a chance to join us. As a result, we were able to engage with a large number of new young people in the program. This also had the unintended benefit of providing an opportunity for some of our regular attendees to step up into leadership roles.

In January, we try and take advantage of the good weather, so many of the activities are outdoors orientated with things like surf lessons, skateboarding workshops and general beach activity days. We also had offered activities such as tie-dye workshops for the more creative amongst our young people. By the end of the program, we had coordinated 8 activities with 123 attendees in total. The feedback from both young people and their parents/carers was exceedingly positive.
