Terms and Conditions:

1. Nomination period opens from 1st August 2025 and closes 3rd September 2025.
2. The awards will be presented at an awards luncheon event during Mental Health Week on Wednesday 8th October at the Paranaple Centre in Devonport.
3. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence shall be entered into regarding decisions.
4. Nominees can be nominated for one category only.
5. One nomination per nominator only.
6. Nominees must be born between the years 2007-2012 (inclusive) or aged 13 – 18yrs.
7. Each category will have an awarded winner as well as a runner up who will be awarded on the day.
8. Nominees must live in or have significant and demonstrable ties to one of the following local government areas: Latrobe, Kentish, Devonport, Central Coast, Burnie, Waratah-Wynyard, Circular Head, West Coast or King Island.
9. Nominations with insufficient contact details for nominee will not be accepted.
10. You may be broad with your reasoning if you wish to maintain an element of privacy for the nominee

Award Category Descriptions

High Five! Award

The High Five is a long-standing tradition when it comes to celebrating an achievement – no matter how large or small. This is your chance to give someone a public high five, so all of us can celebrate their achievement.

Examples:

- Someone who overcomes a fear such as public speaking

- Improved school attendance

Quiet Achiever Award

We all know the person who always shows up, the person that you can always rely on. This award is designed to show appreciation to those who achieve but don’t expect recognition or to be in the limelight.

Examples:

- Someone who is quietly supportive of others

- An achievement that hasn’t been properly recognised

The Great Mate Award

Friendship – this award is designed to highlight a mate who exemplifies the true spirit of friendship. The mate who is there through it all and has shown true support and encouragement to their peers.

Examples:

- An unlikely friendship

- Supporting someone through adversity
