Helping Young Families Program supports young parents to thrive 

YFCC's Helping Young Families Program is supporting young parents in the Burnie community to build confidence, strengthen parenting skills and connect with the right support. 

The program is available to parents aged 25 and under with children aged 0 to 12 years, including during pregnancy. 

At the heart of the program is the safety and wellbeing of children, while empowering parents to feel confident, capable and supported. 

Through the Helping Young Families Program, YFCC works alongside young parents to help them build practical skills, strengthen their connection with their children and link in with supportive communities and services. 

The program offers case management and parenting programs designed to help families thrive. 

These include Circle of Security, which helps parents strengthen connection and secure relationships with their children, Triple P, which supports positive parenting skills and confidence and 1, 2, 3 Magic, which provides practical strategies for calmly and effectively supporting children's behaviour and emotional regulation. 

Support is flexible and outreach-based, with case managers able to meet families where they feel most comfortable.  

This could be at home, at the park, at a café, at the library or at a YFCC office. 

The program is designed to be welcoming, practical and supportive, helping young parents feel less alone and better equipped in their parenting journey.
