On Wednesday 27th April, Helping Young Families worker, Jacqui arranged a school holiday/parenting program celebration activity – a bus tour to Guide Falls Farm.  We had 11 parents and 31 children attend the tour, as well Nat and Jacqui.

Parents were given some activity sheets to complete on observations of theirs, and others parenting habits and improvements, as covered by the recent Circle of Security Parenting course which was held and well attended in term one.

Parents and children were treated to a farm tour where they were able to feed horses, rabbits, chickens, sheep, alpacas, pigs, and many different birds such as peacocks and pheasants.  Children collected the eggs, and some families were even lucky enough to pat some week old piglets.  After our tour kids could have a play and the mums were treated to a hot drink of their choice.  Lunch was then supplied and served in the Café.  Children and parents choose a meal of their choice off a menu, arranged prior.  Everyone had a fabulous time, especially Nat, and some kids said it was, ‘the best day that they had ever had’.   Thank you to all that attended and helped on the day.
