From the CEO

Her Excellency the Honourable Caroline Wells, Governor of Tasmania

It’s a busy time of year at YFCC as we prepare our annual reports, undertake external audits, and make arrangements for our upcoming AGM. While these important governance and accountability activities keep us focused behind the scenes, two particularly exciting developments have kept smiles on our faces and renewed our passion for the work we do.

First, we are incredibly grateful to have the support of Her Excellency the Honourable Caroline Wells, Governor of Tasmania, as our Patron. We are privileged to have the support of someone who has dedicated so much of her life to serving the Tasmanian community.

Her Excellency’s interest in the wellbeing of children, young people and families, and her genuine appreciation of the role community organisations play, is something we value enormously.

Patronage is about much more than a title. It is about belief in an organisation’s purpose and the people it serves. Knowing that Her Excellency stands behind the work of YFCC is both an honour and an encouragement to everyone involved in creating positive change in the lives of Tasmanians.

Her Excellency’s support is a powerful endorsement of both the impact our teams have every day and the importance of investing in children, young people and families.

We are deeply appreciative of her confidence in our organisation and the encouragement this provides to our staff, volunteers, supporters and community partners.

Our second highlight was a powerful reminder of the generosity and community spirit that sits behind our work. An anonymous donor gifted $10,000 to support YFCC’s Alcohol and Other Drug Services, helping ensure this critical work can continue to reach those who need it most.

What made this contribution additionally meaningful was the handwritten note that accompanied it. The donor shared that they were aware of the work undertaken by our team and wanted to ensure those delivering these important services felt supported. In a sector where the challenges can often feel overwhelming, gestures like this remind us that our work is seen, valued and appreciated by the community.

To our anonymous donor, thank you. Your generosity will help make a tangible difference to the lives of those accessing our services, and your words of encouragement have had an equally profound impact on the team who work tirelessly every day to support Tasmanians experiencing alcohol and other drug-related challenges.
