Family Support comprises of two services – Integrated Family Support Service (IFSS) and Helping Young Families (HYF). Both services work directly with families offering a range of supports to meet their needs.

IFSS works with families who have children up to 17 years of age (inclusive), this may also include families who are expecting a baby in the near future (i.e., currently pregnant). The service is voluntary and focuses on increasing the wellbeing and safety of children, young people and families, parenting support, community connections, social participation, advocacy, and referrals to other services. All referrals for the IFSS service come through the Strong Families Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line (1800 000 123).

The HYF program provides support to families who have children aged 0 – 12 years or pregnant mothers who reside in the Burnie Municipality (7320 post code area). This service provides support through home visits, case management, support, and advocacy.
