During May our incredibly gifted Helping Young Families and Family Support teams combined to provide a cinema experience for families to celebrate Families week.

The cinema experience was provided in Burnie and in Devonport. This year we were fortunate to have radio advertising of the events and the numbers of attendees would indicate that the radio advertisement worked well.

The cinema environment was enhanced by the involvement of Fairy Tales and Pirate Sails who provided the always popular face painting and ballon art. We were fortunate to have Bunnings attend in Burnie providing the families with giveaway activities.

The families were also provided with drinks and a few snacks for the movie. We watched Kung Foo Panda 4.

Another highlight of our cinema outing was the guest appearance of Kung Foo Panda. Kung Foo Panda was able to join us at both venues and was certainly enjoyed by the children.

This year saw attendance at around 100 people across both venues, a big increase for Devonport.

One of the families indicated that they have attended this event every year as it is the only time they can take their child to the movies. Another family brought grandparents with them this year because the child was so excited to attend and wanted the grandies to be a part of it.

Big thanks to everyone who helped out for the event, in particular Jacqui, Kaitlyn and Kung Foo Panda.
