Chaos to Calm workshop helps parents build positive home routines

YFCC's Stronger Families Series will continue in August with Chaos to Calm, a free workshop designed to help parents and caregivers build positive routines at home.

The workshop will focus on practical strategies to support everyday family life including routines around sleep, screen time, connection and getting ready for school.

YFCC Family Support Team Leader Lisa Browne said the Stronger Families Series was created to give parents and carers a relaxed, welcoming place to connect with others and feel supported.

"Our team spends a lot of time out in the community talking with families and other community members," she said.

"Through those conversations, we saw a real need to create spaces where parents and carers could simply come along, connect with others and know they're not alone in their parenting journey."

Each workshop includes around an hour focused on the topic, followed by time for participants to enjoy a cuppa, something to eat and connect with other parents and carers.

Ms Browne said that opportunity to connect was a key part of the series.

"We know that some of the best support comes from connecting with people who understand what you're going through, so we've intentionally built that opportunity into every workshop," she said.

"Above all, we hope parents leave knowing they are not alone."

The August Chaos to Calm workshop will be held in Burnie on Monday 18 August from 10am to 12pm at 32 Marine Terrace and in Devonport on Thursday 27 August from 10am to 12pm at 64 Stewart Street.

Registrations are welcome but not required, with parents and caregivers welcome to come along on the day.
