During NAIDOC Week 2025, YFCC and Burnie Works – The Canopy had the privilege of hosting and supporting Connected Beginnings for their powerful Kipli and Kani event – Kipli meaning food and Kani meaning talk.
On beautiful Palawa county, we gathered with over 50 local families to share food and stories, learning firsthand the deep cultural importance of food and conversation, coming together in community. It’s more than just sharing a plate – it’s about strengthening culture, building connection to Country, and creating sustainable relationships long after the services have packed up and left.
Thanks to all the families that attended and to Catholic Care, Smith Family, Burnie Community House, and Tasmanian Police for supporting such an important event.
