CEO MESSAGE
It’s been a mixed past few months (if not, few years). As it is with many not-for-profit organisations across the State, here at YFCC we have an incredibly talented and dedicated team working to support clients and communities to achieve highly positive outcomes. However, we are repetitively caught in a battle to maintain funding levels sufficient to operate effective programs. Once again, the Sector has had to fight to hold Equal Remuneration Order funding across homelessness services (thankfully successfully for this 12-month period), however that same funding was not forthcoming for Federally funded (Department of Health) Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Services. We are still battling to receive sufficient CPI across all programs and striving to receive funding agreements that enable forward planning, the attraction and retention of staff and, ultimately, investment in communities. It takes toughness and tenacity to keep going, and I admire all of you who are still fighting the good cause.

I hope this Easter provided time for everyone to relax and recuperate. The job is clearly not done.

National Families Week 2023 will be celebrated by YFCC at the Metro Cinema in Burnie and Reading Cinemas in Devonport. This is a great opportunity for parents with young children to bring them along to watch a movie, without stressing whether they will sit still, be quiet or annoy other people in the cinema.
