Youth, Family & Community Connections Inc. is a local Not-For-Profit Community Organisation providing a range of health and wellbeing services to young people, families, individuals and communities throughout the North West Coast of Tasmania.

We are seeking applications for the position of Youth Alcohol & Other Drug and Brief Intervention Counsellor, to work within our Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) and Health Promotions Teams.

The position is based in Devonport and delivers two programs. Both programs work across the North West and West Coast regions, aiming to improve the health, social and family functioning of young people (12-24yrs) and their families who may be experiencing problems associated with substance misuse, enabling them to reach their full capacity and participate positively in their community. The position provides specialist outreach ATOD Assessment, Counselling, Case Management, Supported Referral, Group Work and Education and Targeted Health Promotion activities.

The person we are looking for will be engaging, articulate and knowledgeable in the areas of ATOD and Health and Wellbeing. They will have tertiary qualifications in social welfare, or equivalent, and experience in ATOD counselling.

To qualify for an interview, applicants must have a current Driver’s Licence, a current National Police Check and a Working with Vulnerable People Registration and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical.
