The Crisis Accommodation Support Service in Devonport has had the pleasure of meeting some furry faces once a week, since December last year. Claire and her team at Delta Therapy Dogs have been gracious enough to visit our service for an hour and a half on a weekly basis, which has allowed our residents, and workers, some time to relax and get some cuddles. Struggling with mental health is a big issue for many people, and spending time with these dogs gives a much-needed reprieve. The feedback from the residents who engage has been very positive, with the majority of them saying they enjoy the time with the dogs, as it “helps with their mental health”, and also even reminds them of beloved and missed pets. We hope to continue this journey with Delta Therapy Dogs for years to come. Below are some photos of the gorgeous pooches that have visited us here at the Crisis Accommodation Support Service. Please meet Jack, Polly, Andy, and our newest visitor, Maisie May.
