Our ARVOS activities are varied and this year have included projects that give the participants a chance to do something for other people in the community. Our Burnie participants spent a couple of weeks on a project that saw them building two cubbyhouses and then decorating them in their own style.

They then had a visit from staff from Warrawee Women’s Shelter so the participants could donate their work to them, to be used in two of the Warrawee shelters for women and children escaping family violence. The participants were told of the joy these cubbyhouses would bring to children who need it the most.

ARVOS participants have stated they enjoy being able to do things that benefit others. We are currently aiming to engage our participants in projects like this every term.
