CEO MESSAGE
It has been an incredibly busy time of year, with Service progress reporting, end of year financial reporting and preparation for our external audit. The YFCC Board of Governance have also had the additional task of reviewing the Organisation’s risk management framework, policies and procedures.
|
Amongst all of this, we have had the wonderful opportunity of providing a free Community First Aid workshop in partnership with St John Ambulance Australia, made possible through the Devonport City Council Community Grants Program. During Homelessness Week we also held two exceptional events, H.E.L.P Film Festival and the YFCC Homelessness Luncheon with guest speakers Bianca Allford and Roger Jaensch MP, to raise awareness of this ongoing issue in Tasmania. For more information on these events, keep reading (and you simply must view Devonport High School’s winning H.E.L.P. Film entry).
|
Finally, we welcome Reece High School as a new partner. Reece joins many other local High Schools in working with YFCC to promote and grow health and wellbeing opportunities and increase access to services for its students, parents and broader community.

This year marked the 7th Annual HELP film festival. The prospective film makers were asked to produce a short film that focused on the theme of this year’s HELP film festival: “Stereotypes” in relation to homelessness, alcohol and other drug usage with a focus on positive solutions.
