LGBTIQA+ Youth Survey

CEO MESSAGE

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Sharon Corvinus-Jones, CEO of the Kentish Regional Clinic, and Mary Yaxley, Communities for Children Coordinator, CatholicCare. Both were highly respected leaders in the Tasmanian Community Sector. We extend our deepest condolences to their families, their colleagues and all who had the privilege of working alongside them.

We have started 2026 with strong momentum at YFCC, with several positive developments already underway across Youth, Family and Community Connections.

As many of you are aware, the much-anticipated relocation of our Burnie office has now taken place. We are delighted to officially welcome clients, partners and community members to our new premises at 32 Marine Terrace, Burnie. The move represents an important step forward for YFCC, providing a more accessible, welcoming and functional space to support the young people, families and individuals who need our services.

At the same time, our Board is actively progressing recruitment to strengthen our capacity to ensure we are well positioned for the year ahead. This reflects our continued commitment to building a skilled, values-driven workforce that can meet growing community need and deliver high-quality, responsive support.

We are also pleased to share that we have reinvigorated our partnership with City Mission (Serenity House), working together to better support individuals with lived experience of drug dependence. This renewed collaboration strengthens pathways to care, recovery and stability, and reflects the importance of strong partnerships in delivering meaningful outcomes for our community.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the year unfolds and thank all of our funders, partners and supporters for being part of this important work.

Thank you for taking the time to read the newsletter. If you would like to contribute to our next edition, please contact us at reception@yfcc.com.au.

Regards,

Ros Atkinson
