CEO MESSAGE
As we draw the year to a close, I am please to share several important highlights from our recent Annual General Meeting and from across YFCC.
At the AGM, we took the opportunity to reflect on a year marked by strong achievements, collaboration and continued commitment to the communities we serve. A particular highlight was the recognition of Peter Hollister, who was awarded Meritorious Board Member in honour of his outstanding service. Peter has contributed more than 24 years to YFCC, including multiple terms as Treasurer, and his steady leadership, dedication and deep commitment to our vision have helped shape the organisation we are today. We extend our sincere thanks and warmest congratulations to Peter on this well-deserved honour.
Another significant milestone late this year has been the commencement of our Fit for Work program in Launceston. This expansion marks an exciting step forward in supporting more young people to build confidence, skills, and sustainable pathways, into employment, training and education. We acknowledge and thank our funder, the Department of Social Services, for making this possible through Round 4 of the Strong and Resilient Communities-Inclusive Communities (SARC-IC) Grant Opportunity. We are also very please to be extending Fit for Work and Career Connector in the NW, with the support of the Department of State Growth. These investments enable us to strengthen our impact and further our commitment to inclusive, community-based support.
As the festive season approaches, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all our clients, partners, stakeholders, funders, donors and communities. May your Christmas and New Year period be safe, restful and full of connection.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We look forward to working with you in 2026.

UV radiation is dangerous because it’s not like the sun’s light which we see, or the sun’s heat which we feel, so it can be damaging our skin without us knowing.
