CEO MESSAGE
I hope 2025 is off to a good start for all. It’s hard to believe the school year has already commenced.
Late last year, YFCC bid a heartfelt farewell to Chris Stokes, who dedicated 15 years of service to our organisation, first as Finance Manager and later as Chief Financial Officer. Chris joined YFCC at just 25 years of age, and throughout his tenure, his expertise, dedication and leadership played a pivotal role in shaping the organisation into what it is today. We extend our deepest gratitude to Chris for his invaluable contributions and wish him every success in his next venture. His impact on YFCC will be felt for years to come.
In January we were very fortunate to have Sarah Merrick join YFCC as CFO. Sarah is a senior leader with a proven track record in financial and commercial management, stakeholder engagement and transformative leadership. She has worked in multiple sectors including roles such as Head of Business Management Technology at SBS and Enterprise Finance Manager – National Facilities for CSIRO. Sarah is passionate about contributing to a purpose-driven organisation and this aligns her expertise with YFCC’s vision for community resilience and inclusion.
We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming opening of the Youth2Independence facility in Burnie. With final installations now underway, we are approaching the exciting phase of recruitment. Stay tuned for announcements on upcoming opportunities to join this impactful initiative.

The primary goal of CASS is to reunify a young person with their family of origin or extended family. If this isn't possible the young person will be assisted to find and secure independent sustainable accommodation.
