CEO MESSAGE

Welcome to 2018! With January already behind us, it’s set to be another busy year.
Late last year YFCC participated in an external quality accreditation review. This review included our Board, staff, clients and stakeholders. We are very pleased to announce we have met all 18 Standards of the Quality Improvement Council’s Health and Community Service Standards. Importantly for us, we received an outstanding achievement in sustaining quality external relationships, acknowledging our strongly embedded systems and processes through the Organisation at all levels and regular consultation and reviews with a diversity of stakeholders, clients and staff. One of our reviewers tweeted “Thanks to Youth, Family and Community Connections in Devonport for an excellent few days reviewing your outstanding organisation. North West Tasmania is so fortunate to have you all”.
It was also terrific to participate in the Know your Odds competition which took place at the Bluff on February 3, with skaters, scooter and BMX riders demonstrating their skills. Planning has already commenced for National Youth Week, which will run from April 13 – 22. Keep your eye on our Facebook page for upcoming events.
Thank you for taking the time to read the newsletter. If you would like to contribute in our next edition, please contact us on reception@yfcc.com.au

Cheers
Ros Atkinson

Drug Education Network - Mocktails & Mastery and Youth Wristbands

Mocktails + Mastery is a book of non-alcoholic drink recipes with a sprinkle of related knowledge. Full to the brim with recipes for mocktails, this book examines drinking culture, how alcohol works in the body, and much more. Mocktails + Mastery is full of practical tips for feeling good and making delicious beverages.
Our new wristbands were developed with young people in mind. They came about in response to the question on how to effectively communicate help-seeking and party safe messages with young people.
