CEO MESSAGE
This last quarter has been a period of significant activity with our Organisaion marked by diligent efforts in reporting and auditing and a significant event to raise awareness for homelessness during National Homelessness Week. Our Health Promotion team have also been busy delivering a comprehensive and engaging suite of school holiday activities, enriching the experience of many young people across the Coast.
This July I had the esteemed privilege of accepting a substantial donation for YFCC's youth services from DoMaur Productions, following its outstanding performance of American Idiot at the Burnie Arts Centre. We extend our deepest gratitude to DoMaur Productions and all our donors, whose generosity enables us to stretch our services even further.
We recently convened our Homelessness Week event, which included the official naming of our wonderful new youth accommodation facility located on Mount Street in Burnie. This is a very important week for the Housing and Homelessness sector, providing opportunity to heighten awareness about the challenges of homelessness, foster community engagement and build governmental resolve to end homelessness. The imperative for Homelessness Week 2024 is encapsulated in the theme "Homelessness Action Now."
