CEO MESSAGE
During May Jess Deans, who is also celebrating 10 years of service on the YFCC Board, was named the winner of the Courage to Grow category at the Tasmanian Young Achiever's Awards. Jess has had quite the journey - one that exemplifies hope, empowerment, and resilience. She has undergone significant personal and professional growth - also devoting many hours to improving the lives of others and the communities in which she lives and works and volunteering her time to the YFCC Board and Organisation, a Board she first joined as a young person and consumer representative. We are very proud to see her receive this outstanding recognition. Congratulations Jess!
|
During June the YFCC Board also came together over a weekend to review and revitalise the Organisation's strategic plan. Despite the government funding shortages, short term contracts and the pressures of delivering services which have increased demand and increased client complexity, it is encouraging to see the commitment and drive of the Board in ensuring YFCC continues to do all it can to drive positive change and outcomes for clients and communities.

During May our incredibly gifted Helping Young Families and Family Support teams combined to provide a cinema experience for families to celebrate Families week.
|
The cinema experience was provided in Burnie and in Devonport. This year we were fortunate to have radio advertising of the events and the numbers of attendees would indicate that the radio advertisement worked well.
