CEO MESSAGE

Here we are in the middle of the year, having just experienced the winter solstice. Many Tasmanians are doing it tough this winter with rising costs of housing, fuel, food and heating. It was, therefore, wonderful to be able to provide families across the NW Coast with a free family event for Families Week this year, an opportunity to come together and share a few hours of joy. Please read more about this event in our newsletter.

At YFCC we have been very busy recruiting new team members for the Launceston Youth at Risk Centre. This new Centre, for 12-15 year old's, is due to open in September. We have included the vacancy advertisements in this newsletter, so if you know someone who has a passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals, please encourage them to apply.

We also welcome on board new staff members, Dr Anne Munro and Emily Cooper. Dr Anne Munro will be the Coordinator of the new Youth at Risk Centre in Launceston. Emily has joined us in our Fit For Work Program. You can read more about Anne and Emily below. Alyshia Latassa has also commenced her Masters of Social Work placement with YFCC, joining the ATOD and Family Support teams for her learning journey.

Thank you for taking the time to read the newsletter. If you would like to contribute to our next edition, please contact us at reception@yfcc.com.au.
Regards,

Ros Atkinson
CEO
