CEO MESSAGE

It’s been a very busy time of year with all our annual reporting due across July and August.

We are also excited to be commencing the Youth Navigators project which will help up to 300 young Tasmanian school leavers to navigate work, education and training in a COVID-changed world. Youth Navigators, to be delivered in partnership with services around the State, will provide 2020-2021 school leavers with individualised, holistic, targeted support through the following:
  • Previously unavailable individualised support around career identification, job readiness and coaching for young people around their education and employment goals
  • Referrals to specialised youth services who will assist with the barriers to education, training and employment
  • Previously unavailable information and guidance to parents/carers on supporting young people into work, employment and/or training
During early August we also held our annual luncheon for Homelessness Week. This well attended event raises awareness of the issue of homelessness both locally and throughout Tasmania and highlights initiatives and services in place to support people experiencing homelessness. Please read more about this below.

Thank you for taking the time to read the newsletter. If you would like to contribute in our next edition, please contact us on reception@yfcc.com.au

Regards,

Ros Atkinson

Cancer Council Tasmania

It’s time to be SunSmart!
The UV is now 3 and above (skin damaging levels) each day so we need to be using sun protection every day from the beginning of September through to the end of April.
