CEO MESSAGE
Well, another autumn has come and gone, as has the winter solstice. I, for one, am looking forward to longer daylight hours.
YFCC has kept busy facilitating a number of Youth Week and Families Week events in Devonport and Burnie – please read more about these below. Planning is also well underway for the Inspiring Youth Awards to be held in October this year.
During this month we were also very fortunate to be invited to be part of a highly positive youth engagement evening with NW Thunder. Several of our young people got to experience a collective training session with the Thunder team (including a shoot out!), a chat with the coach, Nick Haywood, about the positive influences of working as a team, and a shared meal. We are truly grateful to NW Thunder for this magnificent opportunity - a terrific way to create linkages in our community.
During June / early July we will be saying farewell to Julie Richardson and Glenn Foster who are moving into retirement (leaving some of us more senior staff a little jealous!). Both Julie and Glenn have worked in the community sector for many years and will be sorely missed, however, they leave with our best wishes for a happy and healthy journey ahead.

Due to Covid-19 hitting Tasmania last year during the Tasmanian Youth Week, we had to postpone our Youth Week event in Devonport until December; we found that the layout of this worked extremely well. Our layout for the events in 2021 were a replica of this layout from the event in December 2020.
