Each year Youth, Family and Community Connections Inc. (YFCC) provide an opportunity for young people (aged 12-24) across Tasmania, to explore issues that affect them and others in the community by entering into the HELP Film Festival. This year, film makers were asked to produce a short film (no more than 4 minutes duration) on “Respectful REAL-ationships”. Films were produced using phones, iPads, iPods, or video cameras etc.
Along with film entries from local high schools, we also had guest speakers including Chloe from Angels Hope, a poem reading titled ‘Superficial Love’, information, art displays and competitions as part of this year’s film festival. A big thank you to our awesome MCs – Lee and Jess from SeaFM!
Congratulations to Geneva Christian College students who took out the first prize for their film ‘Choices Change Lives’. Well done also to students from St Brendan Shaw College for their film ‘The Domino Effect’ which was awarded the runner up prize.
Thank you to everyone involved!
